My power steering went out in my 2010 ford fusion
JA: When was the fluid last checked? Have you heard any whining noises while turning the wheel?
Customer: It's a hybrid and just had everything checked monday
JA: Are you fixing your Fusion yourself? What have you tried so far?

You need a scan tool to check for codes in the power steering control module. You have electric power steering so there should be a code stored in the system since it is not working. This is the first step, not all scan tools are the same and able to do this. You will need a shop quality scanner a code reader which they use at the auto parts stores to get codes will not work for this.
