hello, my name is ***** ***** I will be glad to assist you. please allow me a couple of minutes to gather some basic info.

Expert:  roy replied 10 months ago.

what engine??? how long ago did you present the issue to the dealer???

Expert:  roy replied 10 months ago.

are you there

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
its the 6 cylinder eco boost, brought t in first time in 2013
Expert:  roy replied 10 months ago.

ok, no re calls or TSB for the issue.

it has been almost 4 years since you were there. thats is why they are denying any warranty. your warranty is long gone. it is 3 yr 36k. basic. if you have extended, then it may be covered.

part of the warranty is you have to prove every maintenance service has been done. if you do not hve them or one is overtime from when it was due, they can deny warranty as well.

the guides and tensioners are common failures but not at that low mileage. it is common at 100k and over.

if you are not happy with there decision, go up to customer service at Ford and present your case. they will address it but they will kick it back to the dealer.

there have been 2 - TSB's for this issue
Expert:  roy replied 10 months ago.

ok, do you have them???

TSB is a technical service bulletin. it gives reccomendations on the repair. it is not a re call just information.

re calls are the ones that are free

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
both of the tsb people said the problem should be covered under warranty
Expert:  roy replied 10 months ago.

Expert:  Daniel Wilson replied 10 months ago.

Hi my name is***** will be glad to try to help. If you can prove documentation this existed for some time with prior complaints the it is possible you can negotiate a possible discount or partial coverage of this repair but you might be able to have it done for less money at an independent shop out of warranty. Click on this link for the correct TSB. Let me know
