Customer Question

I have a 2000 expedition, it is having what I would call a slow shift going into the final gear. It will shift at about 43 MPH if you let off the gas for a second, If you just hold the throttle it will not shift or sometimes slip then shift. If you mash the throttle it will shift just fine. Sticky valve?
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: Starts fine every time, Does seem to be using more gas. I do not drive it my wife does.
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 2000 expedition built 11/99
JA: Are you fixing your Expedition yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Going to try my self. Did just have the EGR port cleaned and EGR replaced
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: How to get my wife off my back? LOL

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose), my normal schedule online is around lunch and after dinner past midnight.

Any concerns noticed with the transmission oil color, odor, or level?

Do you work on transmissions?

  • What would you like to do regarding your question now.
  • This post is coming up on the 7 day mark where it times out. When a post times out, that means it's no longer on my active list (you reply and I may never know it.)
