Customer Question

I have a Lincoln MKX and the vista roof won't close.
JA: What year is your MKX?
Customer: 2008
JA: Are you fixing your MKX yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I've tried to get it closed with the button controls. I've also turned the car off for a while in case the motor was overheated.
JA: Have you checked the coolant? Have you checked for a leak in the cooling system?
Customer: No. the roof opens but doesn't close.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: That's all I know right now.

The car manual says to try sliding the sunshade crossbar ends back into position to regain proper function. Where are the crossbar ends and how do I do that?

Below is how to manually close the glass panel till you can get it properly looked at and diagnosed. You will need to open the rear hatch and remove the left rear inside trim panel upper section and slightly lower the headliner to access the glass panel motor. It will be the motor to the drivers side of the vehicle.
