my temp gauge when warm will sudenly go to the high side. i will stop turn engine off. start engine after only seconds temp will return to normal

Thanks for the question. Is the engine showing any real signs of overheating, like boiling in the coolant overflow bottle?

Have you checked the coolant level and condition?

Has anything been replaced or tried before to fix this?

coolant level and condition looks good. seemed to be leaking at radiator cap. replaced cap . stoped leaking
