Fuse 6 keeps blowing, rear running lights ,and cluster panel

Customer Question

Fuse 6 keeps blowing, rear running lights ,and cluster panel not working
JA: Have you checked the manual yet? Most vehicles have two fuse panels.
Customer: Sorry don't have a manual, it's a 2006 for 150. I must keep light switch off because. Fuse 6 turns red every time I hit the light switch
JA: Are you fixing your E150 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, new fuses, new tail lights, light switch
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I know there's a short somewhere, but how do I find it? It is fuse 6

Hi, I am Mike, welcome. I'm reviewing your question.

Remove the fuse and stick in an ammeter into that fuse's socket and find out why it keeps blowing the fuse. Start by disconnecting each item on that fuse's circuit until the ammeter falls safely under what that fuse is rated at then replace the part or repair the branch circuit and the shorted wire.

If you want a wiring diagram showing everything on that circuit I will need to know if this is an E150 or an F150, which engine came in it, if it's a 4wd, rwd, and which transmission, manual or auto.
