The C1096 is pointing to a problem with the ABS Module. First, check fuse F.15 in the under-hood fuse block. If the fuse is good, carefully inspect the electrical connector and wire harness to the Module for any loose, broken or damaged wires. If the visual inspection checks ok, there are some tests that can be done to confirm the Module is at fault. More commonly here, the ABS Module will need to be replaced.
