2013 escape: both tail lights are out. they come on when I

Customer Question

2013 escape: both tail lights are out. they come on when I unlock doors but only then. what's the fuse number?
JA: Have you checked the bulbs? Have you checked the connection?
Customer: unless there are other bulbs for running and different lights for signal, the bulbs are good. both tails out at once, too weird.
JA: What is the model of your '13 Ford?
Customer: as stated, 2013 ESCAPE
JA: Are you fixing your Escape yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: LEARNING. checked the manual. fuse first, lights on when opening doors. I know how to change the bulbs but a fuse would be easier to check first. 2013 Ford Escape ECO
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: tail light fuse number/location

On your escape the brake lights and the tail lights use one bulb, but with two different filaments. The turn signals use a separate bulb.

So your tail lights don't work but the brake lights do?
