Customer Question

Transmission won't shift out of first. Won't shift into reverse. Transmission not slipping
JA: This is potentially serious. How long has it been going on?
Customer: It would do it once in a while. If I lifted off the throttle it would shift.
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 97 f-250 7.3 ltr 4wd
JA: Are you fixing your F250 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Put new speed sensor in just now won't go in reverse but haven't driven it yet
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

hows the fluid?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Fluid is good. Full; not burnt. Could it possibly be the shift control module on the side of the transmission? Truck has 164,000 miles on it.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I know if I get a rebuild they will change this out anyway.
