Have Ford Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello and welcome! My name isCustomerand I can assist you with your question.
Are there any anti theft or security lights on or flashing on the dash when trying to start the engine?
Dome lights and headlights work correct?
Have you checked for power down to the starter motor? You might just have a bad starter. If it is beeping slowly, this could indicate low system voltage. What is the battery voltage at? Have you tried to jump it?
You can use a test light or a voltmeter. I would recommend to use a voltmeter.
You will need to get one
As long as the battery is good and fully charged, connections and cables are in good shape, you might just have a bad starter.
Sometimes if you tap on the starter it will loosen the starter Armature on the inside and it may just start up.
At least then you could get it somewhere to get the starter replaced so you dont have a tow bill. Or you can drive it to the auto parts store to pickup a new starter. :)
If there is no power to the starter, you might be able to apply power to the starter to get it to crank over.
