I own a 2012 ford focus se, and i bought a used body control

Customer Question

I own a 2012 ford focus se, and i bought a used body control module for it. Is there a specific procedure for replacing the unit? Does it need to be reprogrammed or flashed?

Hello, replacing the body control module itself is fairly straight forward. The problem is it has to be programmed by vin to the vehicle. The key code is also kept inside the BCM so two keys are needed for it to start again. It isn't something I would recommend swapping out yourself. I would have a dealer do it and save yourself the headache
