2011 F-150 Lariat, stereo pops then has quit working

Customer Question

2011 F-150 Lariat, stereo pops then has quit working altogether.
JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: a few weeks. Pop comes from the speaker and now the radio won't work, turn on. sometimes start s blinking. Right now, nothing.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Begun taking the panels apart to see if there is a loose connection, but youtube videos shows this to be a lengthy process.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: nope

Any ideas? Should I just replace it with an aftermarket radio?

There are capacitors in the factory radio in order to prevent speakers from popping. If it quit all together it is cheaper to buy an aftermarket head unit instead of the factory unit. The factory units cost 6-1200 depending on how fancy they are. I would replace it with a regular cd player of your choice to correct the concern.
