Have Ford Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello, my name is***** and thanks for your question.
It sounds to me like you lost the control head. Check fuses 10 and 12 in the interior fuse box, make sure they have power on both sides with the key in the run position. If both fuses have power than replace the control head.
There would have to be 3 bad actuators or multiple bad wires for this symptom to occur as you described. I bet the fresh air mode is not working either.

The control head is the unit with the climate control controls (knobs) on it. It is all one assembly. You can try disconnecting the battery and touching the terminals together, this will cause a complete hard reset of the control head.
Can you tell if the fresh air/recirc door is working when on max a/c?
If you have the blower on high and the a/c in any position other than max then change it to max you should a significant change in the airflow sound if it is switching.
Does the recirc button light up in he max position and go out when you press it
Do any other modes work or is defrost in every position? (there is always a little bleed to floor when in defrost)
This is your next step:
HVAC Module Cold Boot Process
The purpose of the cold boot process is to allow the HVAC module to reinitialize and calibrate the actuators. To carry out the cold boot process, follow the steps below.
The HVAC module will now initialize and calibrate the actuators. Calibration of the actuators will take approximately 30 seconds.
Its all one unit, the knobs are attached to it. To access console has to come out and center finish panel.
It still sounds like the module is bad, need to perform pinpoint test at link below to confirm.
That's good news, at least it was the easy one.
