2010 Ford fusion hybrid, w/Sony sound system-
Problem left front channel or speaker went silent. Sometimes it will come back on intermittently...need to fix.
What can I check?
Or where can I take for a fix besides a dealership?

The problem may be a handful of things including the speaker itself, wiring or a connection issue, the radio, or if you have an amplifier it would be a possibility also. I would expect a speaker or wiring/connection issue over a radio or amp problem.

The first thing I would recommend is substituting a known good speaker in that location when it isn't working. If another speaker does work then you know the original has failed.

The wiring can also be tested to check for an open circuit to the speaker. If ok then the radio and amp's output for that channel would need to be tested.
