Customer: 2003

What module are you getting the 53 from?
Have you been able to connect a scan tool to the vehicle and checked for Trouble codes.? Example P0401

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No I'm doing this at my house, also the speedometer won't work
Expert:  A. Penland replied 1 year ago.

Where did you get the 53 code? What flashing light?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Count the flashes from the airbag light I just need to no how to fix that and then get my speedometer working
Expert:  A. Penland replied 1 year ago.

Try this first. Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes. Then reconnect and see if the air bag light is still flashing. The speedometer problem is separate issue, but see if the air bag light resets.

I did the battery disconnect and it still comes on
Expert:  A. Penland replied 1 year ago.

Ok, then the air bag problem is what is called a hard fault. Which means the problem is present and the light will not turn off till the problem is fixed.

The only problem is that code 53 can have two possibilities. Either trouble code B1891 or B1892. Either one leads to a different pin point test. See below.
