Ford 2004 f350 xl super duty dies out from park to reverse. In park starts turn on lights engine dies. Start in neutral shift to drive runs but turn lights on dies. If in gear turn on headlights and doesn't die out but no rear lights

Test the alternator. That is a very good sign that the alternator is not putting out enough amps and it needs to be replaced.
