Keep getting P1151 code on my 96 ford ranger xlt 4.0 liter

Customer Question

Keep getting P1151 code on my 96 ford ranger xlt 4.0 liter ... scratching my head on how to fix it
JA: Have you scanned the code? Have you tried to reset it?
Customer: reset it about every 2- 3 times I drive it... talked to a "mechanic" who suggested I change the EGR which I did, and Also bothO2 sensors....
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: New EGR and O2 sensores....put in some fuel cleaner that I am running through to try to clean up the inside...
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: not that I am aware of
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Ford Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

So we dont know if it really is lean or if its just setting a lean code, correct?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I swapped out the EGR and the O2 sensors...using a fuel addititive in hopes of cleaning up a possible clogged injector

Is there a big rush on fixing this? If not I would suggest getting a scan tool that will graph. You can get a cheap elm 327 adapter off ebay and use your phone or a laptop to connect to it and get the ability. Then you can properly diagnose this. Without live data you cant properly diagnose this.

Not a rush... I will take it somewhere I can get some live data

OK. Well your code suggests your oxygen sensors are not switching. Can you confirm that for me when you get there? Also if they arent switching see if you can aritificially enrichen it with some brake cleaner or propane or something.

Will get to it hopfully this weekend...will do
