Customer Question

F150 5.4 has code U1262 when it clears it stays off as long as the truck engine is running. Will run all day and doesn't come back on until I shut off the engine and restart it. Ford has cancelled it several times and it still comes back on. The engine runs fine...everything runs fine.
JA: How many miles are on the car? What size is the engine?
Customer: 150 thousand km. 5.4 litres
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: yes
JA: Great! What have you tried so far?
Customer: nothing, not sure where to look
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Ford Mechanic should know about your Ford?
Customer: is a 2000 duel fuel system...propane/gas
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Ford Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

There is a technical service bulletin out on that code U1262, "A vehicle equipped with Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) may not start or crank. This may be caused by several different items."

It is a fairly long tsb.

The answer went all around the problem but none of the info was helpful.

Other ford techs have tried to fix the problem but no success

So you are saying that tsb went all around the problem?
