I have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Ive been having some issues and got several trouble codes. Im not sure if its the O2 sensor or possibly the spark plug
JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix with a Ford. The Ford Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: The engine
starts up fine but then it starts to idle rough, especially when I put it in reverse. It will stall from time to time when coming to a stop. It runs fine while on the freeway or as long as I keep giving it a little throttle. I did get trouble code P0300 and 0171/0174
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
JA: Great! What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have replaced my spark plugs, Ive inspected the EGR valve and the IAC valve, Ive also cleaned the MAF sensor
JA: Is there anything else the Ford Mechanic should be aware of about your Ford?
Customer: when I replaced the spark plugs it seemed to have fixed the issue for a day or two before it started up agian
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Ford Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.
