I have a 1981 Clenet built on a ford ltd Crown Vic chassis. Has the 5.8 liter, 7200 VV carb, EEC-111, and ca emissions. A few years ago it just started dying when hot. Then would restart in about half hour. Replaced with rebuilt 7200 zvV Motorcraft carb, new fuel pump, cleaned fuel tank and filter in tank, replaced crankshaft sensor, starter, eec module, power relay, distributor, plugs, wires, eeg valve, ignition switch, starter solenoid, and reset the ground on the engine.
Now it starts right up when cold, then dies in about 3-4 minutes and won't start again until totally cold. I am thinking there must be some solenoid or temp sensor that is shutting off the spark or fuel as soon as it senses the engine is warming up a bit. Also I need to see how the vacuum lines from the bi metal on the air filter are supposed to be connected.
