Customer: Hi Ron, ***** ***** here. Working on an 04 F-150, replaced the front left caliper. I get fluid out of the flexible hose, I put the washers on and torqued to 26 ft/lbs. Now when I open the bleeder screw, I get no fluid.

One last important question, do you have a ABS scan tool connected with the ABS pump activated during this bleeding procedure?

Jeremy, I was going off the Haynes manual (which I am sure is not as reliable as the ford TSM) which did not mention an ABS scan tool for the procedure. I am sure I can rent one from NAPA if it is required. I have bled brakes before with a vacuum (mityvac type) not on this particular vehicle.

This brake system will not bleed without the use of a live data scanner, such Snap On Solus, capable of remotely operating the dump valves inside the ABS hydraulic control Unit, this scanner can not be rented only purchased , if you do not have one tow your vehicle to the nearest dealership to have it bled properly.
