The latch on my 60/40 seat does not work and they want me to

Customer Question

The latch on my 60/40 seat does not work and they want me to pay over $1,000.00 for repair at the Ford Dealer. I think they broke my latch and the seat will not go back up. How much does it cost to repair a broken latch and why is it not a warranty issue? This seems to be a continuous problem for Ford cars.

Is there a simpler and less expensive solution to fix the seat?

for that kind of money i would go to recycle yard and get a matching replacement for about 200. All manufacture interior parts are stupid money god knows why. Why it failed I would have to see it. Please remember to rate my service and accept thank you.
