My seat is stuck in the all the way down recline and won't

Customer Question

My seat is stuck in the all the way down recline and won't come back up, all other functions of the seat work.. For example you can move the seat forward and backwards.. And up and down.. BUT the back part, that reclines back and forth won't move. The problem all started with the fact that it would incline to the back but wouldn't return... So we went a little further back and now it won't function. Help.

Either the power seat recline side of the power seat switch is bad or the recline electronic motor has failed. The recline motor is on the hinge side closest to the center console. The connector can be accessed from the back side of the seat.

The seat will have to removed from the truck to replace the recline motor.

Is there any way to free to seat from it's current full inclined position.

Not without removing the seat and accessing the seat back recline motor and shaft.
