Did you clear the codes and reset the tables? Was the old filter bad?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No codes to clear, no check engine light on. Just replaced old DPF filter as it was regening too often and blowing lots of white smoke. This warning only appeared now after installing new serviceable DPF filter. Why would this warning appear as this is new filter? Pressure sensor?
Expert:  James replied 1 year ago.

It could be the pressure sensor. When the DPF filter is replaced there is a service function in the scan tool. This resets the DPF adaptive learning tables. The other part is when a new one is installed they want you to perform a manual stationary regeneration. Installing a new DPF without resetting the tables with a scan tool can throw off the system.
