my 2000 ford explorer V8 Eddie Bauer, 177650 miles. bought a month ago, all is good. looked at tranny she shifts good, but fluid is not red but almost brown, doesn't smell burnt. what are my options here, tranny flush?? or drop the pan and filter?

Hello I will help you with your question,

The best way is to replace the filter by dropping the pan and refilling with fresh fluid through the dipstick tube, if the fluid is not burnt then it should be fine to replace and you should have years of normal operation. Please let me know how I can help you with this
