Customer Question

have a 99 Ford Ranger bagger, it will not start, radio and stock speakers were removed by someone else ( the air bags are used to just lift the truck up and down) the person was going to which the gas tanks out, but when he did the truck went off. I turned the key on for about 10 mins, light goes out, stilll will not start, not pumping fuel, maybe the truck is in theft mode. Any advice?

With the key in the run position what is the theft light doing?

Which engine?

Which transmission?

Will it at least crank?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
1. run position-theft light flashes, but then stops in about 5 to 10 mins
2. 3.0 engine v6
3. automatic
4. no will not crank (that's the problem)

Thanks, ***** ***** theft system to blame. It thinks your a thief. The computer is not recognizing a correct coded key from a faulty key or PATS transceiver at the key cylinder or a module issue. If you get the same results with your spare key then a diagnostic tool is required to attempt reprogramming both keys to the vehicle. This system can not be bypassed.

You want a excellent 5 star answer & I would like to be rated the same for providing it. Consider I don't know your skill level & I can't see, smell, hear, or touch the vehicle. It may take a few back and forth replies. Try your best to respond with good detail so I can do the same. I normally log in at 3pm and work late. A rating is required. Your rating me, what I type. I am not an employee of this website, nor have control over the fees or the time it took to get a response. If you rate negative or not at all you still paid, but I get nothing. I want you pleased with me and my efforts, so let me know if your experience here has come up short.

Thanks Chris
