Customer Question

If have a 2014 Ford F450 with the V10 motor. I'm on my 3rd motor with 85k miles. Since the last engine I've had an engine surge on acceleration. There is an engine code of P029A. They have replaced the PCM, fuel pump and a part on the frame rail for the fuel system. Any ideas what to check next?

Have you checked the fuel pressure under load? We have had quite a few fuel pumps that were defective from the factory.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
they did check the pressure under the load and it was within specs

Have you checked the O2 sensors for bank 1? To see if it is reacting properly?

What should the readings be?
Expert:  Ray M. replied 1 year ago.

The readings will vary, just watch to see if they are switching between rich and lean, and the down stream sensors should be fairly steady.
