Customer Question

Good Morning Moose! I have a 2014 Ford F-150 Eco-boost (12,000 miles) and recently it has started making a strange noise when accelerating or climbing a hill. I am just trying to get an idea what might be wrong before I call my dealership because the check-engine light hasn't come on. It is almost a squeaking sound and there is a slight fluctuation in power. The problem is intermittent, happens usually in the morning.

probably the variable valve timing actuator is failing, but usually that would occur on a vehicle with considerably more mileage , i definitely would not continue to drive the vehicle, because it is so new a defective engine component could quickly destroy the engine.
