Customer Question

After misplacing the keys to a 1999 ford explorer a locksmith opened the door triggering the alarm. Removed the neg. batt. cable to stop the alarm. After locating the keys and reconnecting the cable the engine will not turn over. When When attempting to start all power is lost to everything for a short tine. Also with the batt. cable off turn the ignition on and when batt.cable is reconnected you have what seems to be a clicking sound fron the area of fuse / relay box area. Removed the starter relay and still get the sound from the area of the fuse box. Can you help THANKS

If this has happened there is a non factory alarm installed in this vehicle. When the alarm goes off it disables the starter circuit. If you remove the steering column cover you will see a wire that was cut. This wire needs to be reconnected in order for the vehicle to start again.
