My son has 99 73 powerstroke they said they were no oil

Customer Question

My son has 99 73 powerstroke they said they were no oil going to the injectors, they said both oil pumps were good put on a new oil cooler still no oil to the injectors. They said it could be a tube in front leaking.. the timing chain cover. and they would have to pull the motor to check and see. Could this be a legitimate cure

Does the oil pressure show on the gage when cranking it over?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
The oil gage does not move when you crank it.

then it isnt getting any oil from the low pressure pump to the resevoir, they may be right in saying it is the pickup in the oil pan, one way to check that is to over fill the crankcase with oil by about 4 quarts, then jack up the back end as high as you can, this forces the oil levelto be above the flange where the pick up bolts on, if it starts then , you know its the pickup screen is either loose or broken.
