Customer Question

I have a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500. with 5000 mile on it.
I'm getting a oil pressure warning alarm sound and the gauge goes to 0 psi. This randomly happens. It is on and off and I cannot make it happen. There never actually appears to be a loss of oil pressure? No increased clatter in the engine when the gauge indicates 0 psi.
I have checked the connection on the sending unit above the oil filter and it appears to be connected?
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions

good afternoon my name is ***** ***** I will assist

the first thing I would do is to check the oil pressure with a manual gauge. this will tell you if you have the correct oil pressure for the motor. while you have the sender unit removed, replace it at that time. in most cases it is a faulty sender but check the oil pressure to be sure.
