It is going to build some heat, especially on the highway, that temp is fine. The hum may be due to a gear lash problem and wear. If the hum is present when accelerating or pulling but not on coast then it is gear wear. Usually nothing to be concerned about until it gets really annoying. Then the rear has to be rebuilt.
