I have a 2004 ford fx4 f150 crew cab and it drains the battery . When the battery gets low that it won't start the truck there is a constant ticking sound that sounds like it's coming from the gas tank

Is the key in the off position, how many times has it happened?

it's in the off position and it's happened at least 6 times in the past year it seems if I let the truck seat for two days or so the battery goes dead then the clicking sound starts in the gas tank area also some times my instrument panel and radio lights don't go on though they do when they want to
