Customer Question

1999 F250 super duty 6.8 l triton with p0401 & p0402 codes. Replaced D{F{E with a new one from Ford. Now I have P1401 code. I see several suggestions for what to do next. Thoughts?

The p1401 in the pcm is indicating that it is seeing too high of a voltage from the dpfe sensor. I would make sure you have a good connection at the connector for the dpfe. The pcm should be seeing 4.5v or less with key on engine off or running. If the connector has a poor connection the pcm will see 5 volts. Do you have a scan tool that can monitor the dpfe sensor?
