1993 ford f150 . lights go on and off when at night ... which is when i use them , ,duh.. if i pull back NOT forward on the hight beam switch and hold it the lights will come back on. then i can let go of the hight beam handle. then in a little while the lights will go back out again. i have to push the light switch in and out and sometimes it stays. note: the parking and the rear tail lights all work no matter what.

Hello and thank you for your question, the expert you have requested is not online at present so I will help you and sorry for the delay.The problem you are describing in most cases is caused by a failing headlight switch, the head lamp switch has a built in circuit breaker and when it fails it will cause the switch to overheat and the breaker will kick off , once it cools down it will kick back in and allow the lights to come back on. Pull the headlight switch out and have a look at it and the connector, if the connector shows any signs of heating and or melting, replace the connector as well as the switch
