Ford E350: I have a 98 7.3 power stroke turbo diesel...The

Customer Question

I have a 98 7.3 power stroke turbo diesel...The fuel filter light came on and the truck lost power so I changed the filter and it runs better but the light continues to come on intermittantly...If I shut the engine off for a few minutes the light goes out until I start driving it and then loses power again...any suggestions?

This light is triggered by a vacuum showing up in the system, this could be a weak supply pump or plugged suction line from the tank to the pump. it may also be a bad sensor, check on the fuel filter housing, on the drivers side there is a round sensor with one wire on it, ck to see if it is seeping fuel around the sensor.
