Expedition: Chuck.......I have a problem with my 2002

Customer Question

Hello Chuck.......I have a problem with my 2002 Ford Expedition front a/c. I have an electronic unit and what it's doing is when I am driving with my foot on the accelerator the AC will start blowing on defrost until I let off the accelerator then it will resume blowing from the vents. It doesn't happen when idle only while driving. Any suggestions?

Hello and thanks for choosing just answer. This happens when the HVAC system loses vacuum it goes to the default which is defrost. The causes of this are either a cracked or broken vacuum line or a bad check valve in the vacuum line. The vacuum line tends to break by the battery. It is a black line which is for vacuum supply. The check valve is also close to this area. The check valve is what keeps vacuum from bleeding back under acceleration. Once the check valve or line this will correct your concern.
