2001 Lincoln LS charged the system and then I could hear a leak it appears to be coming fro the right (towards the rear of car) outlet/inlet on the manifold do I need new comoressor... is seems to be working fine until the frion runs out

It sounds like you are saying the leak is coming from the manifold hose assembly.
If so then you just need to replace the hose.
If the compressor is leaking then you need a compressor.
