i have a 2005 ford freestyle automatic when i put it in park it rolls and will not start . i can then shift to neutral and it will start.

So if you put it in park it still rolls? Does it feel like the shifter is moving all the way into park?

No it doesnt feel like its going into park

Okay so it will be necessary to remove the shift linkage from the transmission to see if it's binding up in the transmission or in the shifter linkage. It could be either.
