Ford Ranger: Is there an egr valve on a 2005 3.0 ranger, 2wd?

Customer Question

Is there an egr valve on a 2005 3.0 ranger, 2wd? And if so, where is it? Trying to fix a rough idle. Random misfire codes, 110 thousand miles. I believe the wires and coil packs have been replaced. Tried seafo treatment for a couple weeks. No change. Spitting out misfire codes on #6 and #4.

Hello and thanks for using JustAnswer.I will try my best to help you with your question.
The 2005 Ranger with the 3.0L does not have an EGR valve.
With the misfire, it is either no spark, no fuel or compression.
Is it misfiring constantly or intermittently?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Only at low idle under 1000 rpms.

If the misfire is slight, you will not feel it at higher rpms. Make sure the plug wires are in the proper order on the coil pack.

They are in order. When I stop at lights it will start missing badly, almost dies, the check engine light flashes and it looses power drastically. If I keep it above 1000 rpms it will not do this. It always comes out of this if I keep my foot on the gas.

First check fuel pressure, then do a manual compression test on the engine since #6 and #4 misfires keep coming up. Let's eliminate the base engine and the fuel system.
