F350 6.8 gasser: I have a 2001 f350 6.8L gasser. getting code

Customer Question

I have a 2001 f350 6.8L gasser. getting code 301 and intermittent code for cylinder number 9. I don't have access to the 2001 ford powertrain control diagnosis PC/ED manual.

The problem is probably the coil packs. I would recommend you swap the coils from 1 and 9 to different cylinders and clear the codes. Then drive and see which cylinders the code comes back for. That will let you know if its the coils or something else.
