As it turns out the crankshaft is not to be removed and there are no psecs for the torque on the caps.

WITH THE GREATEST RESPECT, I DON,T FEEL THAT YOU HAVE ANSWERED THE QUESTION. I HAVE JUST REPLACED THE ROD BEARINGS AND NOW NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TORQUE THE MAIN BEARING CAPS.

I have looked on our Ford shop manual site and on the Mitchell On Demand site we use and niether of then has a procedure or torque spec for removing the crankshaft or bearings. The bottom end of this engine uses what is called a ladder for the main bearing caps and is assembled in the factory using a special jig, ther is no way to align this ladder assy out in the field without this jig.the only thing I can suggest is you use the torque for the bolt size, which can be found at any bolt supply store.
