Ford Mustang i get the cose p0340 i changed the cam sensor

i get the cose p0340
i changed the cam sensor , cleared the codes and code p0340 comes back. the car run rough under load at 1100 rpms . the rpms jump up and down like crazy . but if ideal is up car runs great

if wiring between sinsor and computer is good, you will have to check timing chain components.

you may have streched timing chain or tone weel for cam sensor may be loose or damaged.

also check crankshaft sysgnal, and if crank and cam are in sync.

yes, there is problem in timing chain and camshafts timing area.

remove battery, drain coolant/ remove crank pulley/ remove water pump pulley

remove power steering pump and braket/disconnect EGR valve tube

disconnect coolant hoses

remove cam sensor

remove heater water outlet tube

remove camshaft syncronizer assembly

disconnect lower rad hose

there are 2 small pipes coming from exhaust and going to D.P.F EGR Sensor

timing chain wasnt what was wrong . it still runs rought underload at 1100 rps.
do you still have code for cam sensor?

i took the car for a long ride when i came home i check for codes and they all pass . but it feels like its missing at the low rpm

Hi, ignition coil pack can cause this without leaving codes. Have you tried another one? MAF sensor will cause this as well.

new coil didnt make change. dont maf sensor throw a code when bad ?
MAF sensor will throw a code if wiring problem, but not when bad performance. can you borrow one from another vehicle?

i bought both new maf and coil . but tonight when i took car i notice something that i didnt notice before. i smell gas in the morning ill be checking the plugs out there new but if i smell gas something ant fireing . also ive check each spark plug wire with timing light those are all fireing . was wondering if also if i was off a tooth on that cam would cause this ?

also i have re changed plugs and wires today.still have same problem . run rough at low ideal

remove EGR vacuum hose and plug it, then retest, you can also remove EGR and plug egr port to test. leaking EGR will cause this. do not buy new parts just test it first.

car seems to run better when i pluged the egr vacume hose just hessatates with a quick snap of peddel . but does run better
ok so problem is most likely EGR control vacuum solenoid, follow vacuum hose and it will lead you to it. And looks like camshaft syncronizer may have been off a tooth. and you have positioned correct now.

this car came with check engine light on.come with p1309,p0303,p0304 ive changed plugs and wires took apart fuel rail turn key and seen all fuel injectors working.i put another engine in this car cause this guy changed oil and forgot oil plug and fried moter.now i have these codes p1309,p0303,p0304
