Brian :

This is most likely caused by a problem with the electronic throttle body assembly, it has 2 throttle position sensors that are dependant on each other, if one fails it will cause the electronic throttle system to go into a failure mode, when you turn the key off and back on again, if the compuiter doesn't see a fault, it will resume normal operation. If there were no other codes stored in the computer, you may need to replace the electronic throttle body, it comes with both sensors and the electronic throttle actuator.

Why not replace one or both sensors instead of the whole

Is there a accelerater pedal position sensor and if so does it have it's own code?
Expert:  Brian replied 6 years ago.
Yes there is, there are actually 3 sensors incorporated into the accelerator pedal, the codes could be from P2121 to P2133.
