2000 Ford Taurus: the location of the DPF Sensor and Egr Valve

I need the 8th digit of the VIN code as there are 2 different 3L engines available, the 2valve and the 4valve, and the location of the parts are different for each.

replacement directions for both, if needed:

3.0L (2V) Engine
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Release the pin-type wire retainer from the differential pressure feedback Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) sensor.

  3. Remove the differential pressure feedback EGR system.

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

    • Remove the differential pressure feedback EGR sensor from the vacuum hoses.

To install:

  1. Install the differential pressure feedback EGR system.

    • Install the differential pressure feedback EGR sensor from the vacuum hoses.

    • Connect the electrical connector.

  2. Engage the pin-type wire retainer to the differential pressure feedback Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) sensor.

  3. Connect the battery ground cable.


3.0L (2V) Engine
  1. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve:

    • Disconnect the vacuum line.

    • Disconnect EGR tube nut.

  2. Remove the EGR valve:

    • Remove the two bolts.

    • Remove and discard the gasket.

       

      NOTE

      The sealing surfaces are soft metal.

To install:

  1. Install the EGR valve:

    • Install and discard the gasket.

    • Install the two bolts. Tighten the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).

  2. Connect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve:

    • Connect EGR tube nut. Tighten the nut to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).

    • Connect the vacuum line.

  3. Carefully clean both sealing surfaces and install a new EGR valve gasket.
