You can try and use your spare key, if you haven't already, to see if it starts. If not, there is a problem with the system. You will need to have it scanned to check for fault codes.

PATS disables the vehicle from starting if there is:

  • a damaged PATS key.
  • a non-programmed PATS key.
  • a non-PATS key (key has no electronics).
  • damaged wiring.
  • a damaged transceiver.
  • a damaged IC.
  • a damaged PCM.

On the slight chance that there is a glitch in the PATS system, you can disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, and then reconnect battery and try your key again. If this doesnt work, then it has to be towed to a dealership to have the PATS system scanned to find the failure
