2001 ford explorer sport: put into park by shift..manually..adjustment

sister has 2001 ford explorer sport..you can not put into park by shift lever...but you can do it manually under vehicle...is there a adjustment or does cable need replaced

ok what does that have to do with it not going into park

Oh my fault, for some reason I was thinking the vehicle wasn't coming out of park.

Tim West :

that is my bad.

Yea, if the vehicle isn't going into park, the cable has probably binded

Customer :

no wont go into park

Tim West :

hang on 2 seconds

Customer :

you can do it manually and indicator will go into park but you cant do it with shift lever

replace cable huh

I would remove the cable and at least have a good look at it.
