Pulled codes P0171 and P0174 on 1997 Ford Crown Victoria with 4.6 liter VIN W. Changed MAF sensor and cleared codes. Completed drive cycle, check engine light did not come back on. Once vehicle is at normal operating temp and you stop at stop sign, it will stall. Vehicle will start again with no problem and idle fine. Vehicle has no power loss or hesitation.

You may have a problem with a vacuum leak, EGR sticking open or a stickign idle air control valve.

Richard :

They will all cause the stalling like you describe and a vacuum leak could be the cause of those leans codes.

Richard :

Look closely at the PCV hose as they sometimes collapse and leak.
