Hello!

Ok... What is the DPFE sensor voltage with the key on engine off?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 8 years ago
the car is not in our possession at this time will be coming back tomorrow
Ford Mechanic: AMEDEE, FORD TECHNICIAN replied 8 years ago

Ok... when you get a chance, check the voltage from the DPFE sensor key on engine off. Depending on the DPFE sensor, it will be about .5 of a volt or 1.0 volt. If it is anything else like 1.5 or above key on engine off, the DPFE sensor is bad and will need ot be replaced. I don't care if it is new.. it is BAD! Just be sure the ground and the reference voltage are ok.

If that checks out, then make sure the DPFE signal voltage increase slowly as you apply vacuum to the egr valve with the engine running.

If you apply vacuum ot the egr valve and the engine does not stumble, the egr ports are plugged up and will need to be cleaned.

Here is your wiring diagram. One wire will have 5 volts on it with the key on. This is your reference wire, one wire will have a ground and the other wire is the signal return wire.
