Elipmo:

What system do you have manual or automatic temp control?

Do you have a test light or voltmeter to test with?

Customer reply replied 8 years ago

My system is manual temp control.

I have both, a test light i.e. power probe and fluke volt ohm meter.

How your system works is you have an auxiliary relay box located under the hood behind the left head light. There will be 2 large relays on one side and 3 smaller relays in the middle then one large relay and diode on the other side. The large relay beside the diode is the AC relay. If you pull the relay out and look at the bottom the pins will be numbered.

Now how it works is pin 86 gets power from fuse 32(15amp) in the under dash fuse panel, this is the power side of the coil side of the relay.Pin 30 gets power from fuse no. 11(10amp) also located in the under dash fuse panel. Pin 85 is the ground to the coil side of the relay, the PCM provides this ground based on the signal it gets from the low pressure cycling switch and the high pressure switch and also from inputs from the temp sensor(if engine is trying to run hot). Pin 87 is the switch side that goes to the compressor.

When you have power on pin 86 and ground on pin 85 this energizes the coil which creates a magnetic field which then pulls the switch side of the relay closed so power on pin 30 can flow to pin 87 and then to the AC compressor.

If you have power on pi 86 and 30 then check and make sure you have ground on pin 85.If you do not then check make sure you have power at the low pressure switch both sides when plugged up and also the high pressure switch both sides.
